RimWorld colony wealth is the single biggest driver of raid size. Learn what counts, how it scales, and how to spend it — for the current 1.6 / Odyssey version.
What Counts as Wealth
- Buildings and items: everything constructed and every item stored.
- Colonists and animals: pawns add significant wealth.
- Silver and valuables: raw silver, gold, components count fully.
How Wealth Scales Raids
| Wealth tier | Raid trend | Advice |
|---|---|---|
| Under 50k | Light raids (1-3 raiders) | Focus on food and weapons |
| 50k-200k | Moderate (4-8) | Build walls and turrets |
| 200k-500k | Heavy (10-20) | Full defense layout + mortars |
| 500k+ | Massive / sieges | Spend wealth on defenses & pawns |
Spending Wealth Wisely
Hoarded silver invites raids. Convert wealth into: better weapons and armor, turrets and defenses, medicine, and quality-of-life buildings. A masterwork weapon for your best shooter is worth more than 2,000 silver in a stockpile.
Wealth FAQ
Should I avoid getting rich?
No — just spend. Wealth spent on defenses and gear scales your combat power faster than raids scale.
Do colonists count as wealth?
Yes — each colonist adds wealth, but they also add firepower. Trained pawns are usually worth the raid increase.
